Goals START NOW!!!

Okay, so I found this app, via my sister-in-law, that tracks your exercise for you, calculates calories burned, and even makes a map. I was inspired, past the fact I looked at my stomach today and said SCREW IT!  I'm fed up, and by god, I'm determined to have some ambition in my life. Plus I feel amazing right now.  So this is the link.  Go there! Be inspired! I jogged/walked with Arwen in my driveway (it's paved and rather long) but I was still in flip flops, it was fixing to storm so Arwen was distracted, and she was learning how to run on the leash without killing me.  But, anyways, ten whole minutes! I then did a Zumba workout for twenty minutes. I am quite proud of myself. I've been starting to watch what I eat, and I'm going to work toward that goal more. I have been eating nutritious cereal for breakfast with Almond milk, but I think I shall switch to eggs, and a glass of milk for breakfast starting next week. Then I just have to reallly really cut back on the fast food (which I already have, but more!!) and work on integrating other things into my diet.

Otherwise, I got a new backpack today.  I am in love with it, it's very me.  The inside is also very me.  It's also raining and storming right now which I love. After all, it inspired my dragon story which I am slowly working on and quite proud of. I need to scan the picture my brother drew me of a dragon.  -sighs- I'm just so proud of myself. I know it's silly, because it was only one workout, but dang I feel good. Please, please, let me keep this up!!!  Besides it was fun to run around like an idiot with Arwen. She was more than happy to get inside and pass out :P

So... do I have any other news? I have two weddings to go to this weekend. One close, and one in Louisville. School starts in a month, which is a little scary and I won't be switching my major, which sucks. Oh well. Should have done it earlier. I'm thinking about running into the storm at the moment. It would feel great. I may at least go out on the porch. Well, peace my friends, and good night.

Oh I remember why now...

So, today is an awesome day for me. Sean and I have been together for seven years today. It will be four years married on September 13th.  I'm rather happy, and I love him very much, even if I did have to fuss at him for the mess he left in the kitchen.

I celebrated my anniversary (not really) by going to the dentist. I had one cavity filled and I hope to never have another. Another tooth was beginning to form one but he got it taken care off without a filling. I think that is pretty good for not having been to the dentist in five years. Maybe one day I'll be able to get my top wisdom teeth taken of, especially as they cause me much pain.

I met with the man in charge of Student Affairs and I am quite excited about that part of my future. I'm working on my resume for next January when I do begin applying for the masters program and the GA positions. I'm pondering changing my second major from creative writing to Lit and I would if the person I emailed would let me know about the class I need to be in.

Anyways, I had something I wanted to talk about earlier and I've forgotten it. Maybe laters.

JASNA Louisville Festival 2012

So, today was the Jane Austen Festival and it was amazing. We were an hour late leaving, but we made it in time to check in at the Historic Locust Grove and be the first in line for tea. Our table was back in the corner, with a plant beside us, so we got the best view. The china was adorable and made us all feel very ladylike. It really was great having a formal tea. Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong era.  Everyone loved our dresses, and the main host at the tea told us we were "lovely." It was sweet. My cameo that I wore also went over very well and one of the shopkeepers even asked how much I spent on it - $2. He didn't believe me so that was funny.

Of course I took tons of pictures. More on the tea: we had scones, little meat pies (which I didn't like), egg sandwiches (which was cut up all cute like) and black forest ham sandwiches with horseradish cream cheese. I loved the ham sandwiches. There were also strawberries. The tea, oh lord the tea. I tried the 'Marianne's Wild Abandon' and it was the best tea I have ever had. I must fine it somewhere to purchase.  Oh wait, the power of google!   The TEA!!!!  Bingley's Teas was actually at the festival but was already mostly out of tea, much to my sadness. I really shall have to order some of this. I also need to order the hobbit label pin from ebay. Oh wait, off topic. I drank four cups of it and one of black tea. I'm very much in love with the whole tea scene. I really need to attend the monthly meetings I paid to be a part of since... you know I paid for them. There is also the fact that they have amazing tea parties every time!!!

After the tea we looked around at the shops, saw horses, a gentleman's duel, and a talk about men's fashion and what each piece was for. For future reference, that man was very nice looking. Becky and I changed after the duel because it was rather hot and we had sweated a storm. Everyone loved my necklace as well as my parasol. They loved our dresses, which I must thank Becky's mother in law for quite some time. We toured the house as well which was beautiful inside, but the stairs were a little scary.

We then proceeded to get stuck in Louisville because they had every I65 entrance closed. It was evil!!! We spent an hour and a half trying to get out and on the way home.  Then sadly, I round up with a migraine. Darn it all. But we finally made it home.  My head still hurts, but I wanted to get this post up. Soon, I hope to sleep. I like sleep.

Tomorrow!!

So, yesterday I had fun knitting as well as picking out yarn for my purse that Heather is going to make me. It's beautiful, very me, and I cannot wait. I will post pictures of that later as well as pictures of the JASNA festival tomorrow. Today I went and saw my brother which was great.

I also just spent close to five hours cleaning my kitchen and utility room. I did all the dishes, cleaned the cabinets, the stove, swept, mopped, rearranged the pantry and rearranged some of the items/furniture. So, yeah. It's awesome. I'm excited. I'm also watching an episode of Buffy and Giles is singing again. I must saw... he is sexy when singing :)

Well, this is an uber short post so yeah.... Oh well. More tomorrow!

Regency Fashion!!

Yay!  So this is my regency dress that my sister's mother in law made for me.  The sides have to be taken in just a little bit but otherwise it is perfect!!!  See, I have my regency purse and shoes. My boots work perfectly. I have on a cameo necklace, but the chain is currently too long. I'm going to get a ribbon for it instead.

Other than that - I knitted on my scarf yesterday and I should have a picture of that to update it... hang on...  It is as long as my laptop now.  I'm slowly making it. I decided to not learn any more knits yet because I don't want to rush or confuse myself.  Maybe I shall this Friday.

I am on the fourth season of Buffy now. I miss Angel :( -sighs- However, Spike is showing up soon so that will be cool.  I bought a new planner as well, and I am in love with it.  Heather also agreed to make my purse so now I have to cook up some awesome way to thank her.
So -- This is my scarf. So far. Like I said, I'm working on it. I shall knit more tonight. I also have more of Heather's story to read so that I have that to look forward to as well.  I really really should be reading my Renaissance Ghost Stories for my classes next semester but I haven't managed that quite yet.

Anyways, love my dress, love Heather, love my scarf, and love my sissy, and everything. Hate my migraines.

Ta ta!!!

Knitting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, so my sister and I went to town today and spent time looking at Knitting magazines and books. I fell in love with some patterns. There are more on facebook but most of them refuse to load on here for some reason. The bag in the bottom? I am in LOVE with it. I want it something terrible in grey. Maybe with a longer handle so it could be a crossbody bag. I'm hoping to bribe Heather into making it for me... for like Christmas... since well, It will be a long time before I can probably do it. Or I could wait. Who knows.

Otherwise, today was pretty awesome. I had fun hanging with my sister, and played with my puppy for a while this morning. I even cleaned and did laundry.  Last night I wrote 1500 words on my short story I wrote earlier. I added a prologue and more to the original story.  I am going to add to it and plan it out. I'm hoping it will become a novel. I really really hope. My brother has drawn me a dragon, which I cannot wait to see. I'm also really excited about the possibility knitting will create - awesome clothes, stuff and gifts. I also saw some books on making Jewelry and I think that will be a great idea. Perhaps, if we open an Etsy store, I can jewelry as well.
Well, that is all I can think of at the moment. I'm sure there will be more tomorrow. I have another knitting/sewing lesson and I get to try on my Jane Austen dress for the first time.  That is next weekend.  I have a lot to look forward too!!!

Oh, My sister at the cafe in B&N while looking out the window:
"There is a grocery cart. On the sidewalk. It's staring at me."  Lol

Updates Galore!

Okay, so I have a million updates and pictures.  For news all at once, my purse and my shoes came in. My purse was actually here Monday, so it arrived two days early! My purse is awesome, just as beautiful as in the picture, and will be very useful at the festival. It's the perfect size for my phone, id and some money. The shoes are slowly becoming worn in, but are already very comfy. They look great! I love them :) I cannot wait to get the others that I want from that site.

Aren't they awesome? In even better news, $450 later, my trees were cut down and hauled off Monday!  As well as the branches that had fallen out of them. It looks great, and I feel wonderful for having done something that makes such a huge difference. Now if I can just do the three other huge projects we have for the house outside, life would be awesome. We need new siding, new windows, and we need to replace part of the back wall to install the new door.  But here is what is left of the trees!

In other notes, I have been working on my knitting. I'm currently making my first ever project which is an awesome dark purple scarf. I've learned how to correct and catch my own mistakes, as well as to make way less mistakes.  It was starting to hurt my left wrist the other night. I also know that if I have a migraine or wrist pain I'm likely to make tons of mistakes without realizing it until the next day... but I'm proud of what I've done so far.  I also crazy cleaned my living room and fixed my shelf :)

At last but not least: Puppy!  Arwen is as adorable as ever. I cannot remember what I say on here vs Facebook. I don't think I've said anything about her vet appointment. She did great and they started her on her second round. She did wonderful in the car and found her spot to sit. She refuses to learn roll over. No matter how many times I show her, she just lays her head down and pouts. She loves to shake and we are working on crawl.  Last night she mostly wanted to cuddle, though she did get in lots of trouble for trying to chew on socks 3 different times.

Lessons of the Summer

So, above is my first square I ever knitted, and the second picture is my first sewing example!!! So far as sewing, I was just learning to stitch in a straight line and we were experimenting with my sisters new machine.  I'm excited. Learning to knit and sew in one summer is awesome!! Can't say I wasn't productive this summer!!  Heather is awesome, and my sister's mother in law is also awesome for teaching us to sew.

So, I ordered my new boots which I am very excited about. I went with the tall white ones because they had more reviews. If these go well I shall ask for the other ones this Christmas. They are supposed to be here Tuesday. I cannot wait to wear them and my purse is supposed to arrive Wednesday! I cannot wait to see my Jane Austen outfit which may be ready to try on by this weekend. The Jane Austen festival shall be one of the highlights of my year. If you want to know more about it go here: http://www.jasnalouisville.com/

Well, my head is trying to kill me so that is all for now.

Nighty night!

Sleepy Sleepy

Well, I've been awake since about six this morning, and I must say I'm proud of myself. I didn't go run around my driveway like I had thought about, but I did finish my Rachel book, which is updated on my Summer Reading post. I then got distracted by facebook and such and have not accomplished much yet. The dogs got out of the dog pen by pulling the fence from the bottom of the shed and crawling out the back. It was right before Sean left for work, so Moe is back on his chain and Arwen is inside with me until his dad can come nail it in or Sean gets home tonight. There is no chance in heck it would work well if I tried it, so I'm not even bothering.

Arwen is now asleep on my stomach. Tis very hard to convince myself to get up and do anything and a nap sounds incredibly appealing. However, I do have plans for ... well probably after a nap.  I'm going to get up, do the dishes, clean my cabinets, clean the trash can, clean the living room, clean the dog pen, sweep and mop and clean the bathroom as well as give Arwen and the cats baths. I also want to install the magnets on my kitchen cabinets so they will stay closed. We shall see how that goes.  Oh and laundry. I need to do laundry.... Nope, don't have a giant to do list for today at all.

Other than that... maybe I'll work on reading another book.  Called the tree people. It was too hot yesterday and it did reach 105. But there were supposed to be at my house at seven in the morning when it was still in the sixties... so yeah. Whatever, it's rescheduled for Monday. Let's hope they show up. And that cools off. I really am wanting fall/winter to get here even if it does mean a very very stressful semester is ahead. It also means cooler weather, my favorite clothes, the Renaissance festival, seeing my mom, vacation with my family, including the hubby for once, Christmas, Thanksgiving, and so much more.  I think the positives actually outweigh the negatives...

Cha Cha Cha

Hello :) Haven't updated in a while. I am hoping to get my new vanity for my bathroom this weekend as it is on sale for only 39 dollars, and that is fifty cheaper than what it was.  Yay! My trees were supposed to start being cut down at 7 am this morning... and they didn't show. I'm really getting tired of it. I'm calling after awhile. I really need those two trees taken down, as some really bad windy storms have been rolling through town.

I have had a migraine almost every day this week. Tis really annoying but luckily today I caught mine in time by my aura so I only had to deal with it for a couple of hours. I'm heading to B&N when I get off work to get the next Rachel book, then I'm off to Walmart with my boss. After that I'm heading home, so I should be home by 3ish, which will be amazing. Happy days, I love it when my husband has a car.

Not much really has been going on. I may be seeing my brother tomorrow. I had supper with my sister and brother-in-law last night. Sean cooked breakfast foods (Pancakes, Sean style scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, and biscuits).  It was really good and Chris loved it because he can't make pancakes apparently. I'm glad they liked the food, and it was fun to cook for them. :)  I love spending time with family. Sunday we will probably be learning knitting some more. Always fun! I need to practice more but I can't get my stupid thread untangled... maybe I will buy more.

Well... anyways. I really have  not much to talk about at all.

Peace!

Guess what I started learning today?

Heya! I began learning to knit today. Originally I wasn't going to because I was worried about my wrist and whether or not it could handle it. But I attempted... and reattempted... and reattempted knitting today and it didn't hurt at all!!! I was amazed at how patient Heather was. She was absolutely great. She came to my sister's today and taught us both. She's an awesome friend!  * I put the pictures on facebook Heather, and I can't tag you anymore, so I thought I would tell you :P

Heather, the most awesome, also finished my knitted socks. Which I love. And have on right now. :)

And to add to the great day I'm having, my car is fixed!!!!  So apparently my father-in-law found a cracked hose and put electrical tape on it to fix it and was going to tell me to buy one so he could replace it. And forgot about it completely.  Yeaaah, so the 100 degree weather and my driving it melted the tape. Viola, my car couldn't work. So my father-in-law stole one of Sean's dead and poof! It's fixed. (We still need to buy the actual one and replace it) Working perfectly. Actually better, because through the course of the day, my fuel filter has been cleaned, all my spark plugs were changed and several other minor things were fixed.  YAY!!!  And here is an update on my puppy, she's doing great. She's being adorable as ever, and I've already taught her to walk on a leash, sit, sit pretty, and lay down. We are working on roll over, and I'm thinking I may start on shake. She can also fetch :)  She's also trying really hard to figure out the cats.
